I realize I'm WAY late in posting about Chuck's birthday, but hey, better later.....
I put out the word that our doors would be open for Chuck's big day, (on the Sunday afternoon closest to the big day, anyway) and lots of friends and family showed up. Everyone had a card, and a hug. We even moved Chucks camper so that if he wants to "camp out" in the front yard, it is now positioned so we can have a campfire and extend the awning.
Friends brought 2 cakes, so all I had to supply was the ice cream, and lots of chairs. The weather was so nice that we started outside - scrambling for lawn chairs and laughing the whole time. After a little while, though, we came indoors for the sugar treats. I didn't even remember beverages, which ended up being water for everyone!
Of course the grandchildren attended, and provided endless entertainment, especially when Hannah had to run around holding her diaper up with one hand 'cause it was so heavy! I rescued her quickly, though. Didn't want her to lose her grip.
Though it was a very tiring day, Chuck rejoiced in all the love that poured out for him, and when the last guest had gone, he promptly took a good long nap. If YOU were one of those guests - THANKS for a great birthday.
